   Women'Secret opens new store in Saint Petersburg and confirms the brand's strong growth in the russian
   market.

Women'secret, the leading chain in the Spanish lingerie market has just opened its store number 40 in the Russian Federation. With this opening, the Spanish chain has reached 44 points of sale of which four are franchises in the Eurasian country.

The new store was opened in one of the most emblematic shopping centres in Saint Petersburg, Galereya, where it has implemented its new Women'secret store concept. The new space reflects all the values of a dynamic, innovative and feminine brand. The store plays with more sophisticated materials, to convey a more mature image, combining black and copper tones in the decor. Each area offers carefully designed details that guide customers through the different collections, innovations and trends, making for a unique buying experience.

Women'secret maintains its implementation plan in the Russian market despite the impact that the ruble crisis has made on foreign investment in the country, where it has opened 10 stores more since 2014. Grupo Cortefiel, owner of the company, bought the Springfield and Women'secret operations from the local franchise in 2013, a year earlier.

According to reports by the management of the company, "Women'secret is showing very positive performance in the Russian market, and growth accelerated especially during the spring-summer season, registering gains of 20% in total sales and 5% surface comparable in euros, which implies much higher growth in local currency. This confirms the success of the format in Russia and the positive response to our collections despite the crisis".

Women'secret ended 2014 with 640 stores and presence in 64 countries.

   The Fashion Industry, Culture and Fashion Designers pay homage to Pedro del Hierro

The world of industry, culture and fashion designers paid tribute to the designer Pedro del Hierro in Madrid on the occasion of his official retirement as the original designer for the PdH brand. The event, chaired by the Minister of Culture, Ángeles González-Sinde and held at the Museo del Traje (CIPE) in Madrid.

The event was organized by the Museum, the Fashion Designers Association of Spain and Grupo Cortefiel in honour of the Spanish designer, Pedro del Hierro. In moving words about the creator said: "I ​​never dare dream my creations would become a part of a museum collection, as I never believed that my signature would be present in dozens of countries around the world.    The Museo del Traje in Madrid presents the exhibition "Homage to Pedro del Hierro.

The Museo del Traje, CIPE, in cooperation with the Grupo Cortefiel and the Fashion Designers Association of Spain, presented the exhibition “Homage to Pedro del Hierro, Colour, Beauty and Time, which will be open until May 8 to mark his official retirement as a fashion designer.

The exhibition features 25 original couture creations by the designer during his career donated to the Museum of Costume by the Cortefiel Group as a part of the permanent collection. The exhibition offers a collection of photographs taken for this occasion by Sylvia Polakov. The photographer portrays ten women of social relevance who also wished to pay tribute to Pedro del Hierro by posing in the original designs.

   Grupo Cortefiel continues its focus on the Latin-American market with the arrival of Springfield in Uruguay

On 10 November, the Springfield brand will open its first store in the city of Punta del Este, one of Uruguay's most important tourism points. The new sales space will have a surface area of more than 150 m2 and it will be located in the Punta Shopping Mall. Springfield arrives in Uruguay through a local partner with which it plans to open new points of sale over a five-year period in cities such as Rivera and Montevideo.

Thus, Grupo Cortefiel continues to focus on the Latin-American market, with an expansion plan having been established throughout the region with recent openings of the first Springfield and Women'secret stores in Paraguay and the arrival in Ecuador and Bolivia of all the Group's brands – Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Springfield and Women'secret – in the coming months. Women'secret held a press conference introducing Elsa Pataky as star of their first fashion film "Dark Seduction", and Paula Ortiz as director. Women'secret chose to use the fashion film format, a new advertising medium increasingly popular amongst fashion brands, to present its limited edition collection. The event was attended by Jaume Miquel, General Manager of Women'secret, who alongside Elsa Pataky and Paula Ortiz unveiled the project and announced the premier of "Dark Seduction" and the capsule collection next month, in November.

Pedro del Hierro Madrid is back in New York City to present its spring/summer 15 fashion collection. Carmen March, Creative Director of the brand unveiled her new work at Pier 59 Studios. For Spring 2015, Creative Director Carmen March was inspired by del Hierro’s earliest customers. “I was thinking of that select group of chic Spaniards that first championed Pedro’s collections in the ‘70s,” March explains. “And seeing Slim Aarons’ beautiful photos of their summers in Marbella and Sotogrande really had an impact on me.”

Aarons, the photographer whose rapport with aristocrats, movie stars and polo players allowed him to capture unguarded moments on yachts and behind villa walls, aimed to shoot “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.” His color-drenched summer photos, filled with languid, sensual poses set around sparkling pools, pushed March to experiment with cuts and fabrics, playing on the theme of clothing asymmetrically hugging the curves of a woman’s body as though she had recently emerged, fully dressed, from the water.

Pedro del Hierro Madrid is back in New York City to present its Fall/Winter 14/15 fashion collection. Carmen March, Creative Director of the brand unveiled her new work at the EYEBEAM Atelier, located in Chelsea.

“More than anything,” Carmen March, the Creative Director of Pedro del Hierro Madrid, explains, “it was a feeling of hope that inspired me”. While she was designing this Fall/Winter collection, March was also re-reading Carmen Laforet’s classic 1940s novel, Nada. The book’s first chapter, describing the heroine’s arrival to Barcelona on an evening train, struck a chord. “Those opening pages are filled with a powerful yearning for a new beginning after the suffering and privations of a long Civil War–one can’t help but be moved by that desire.” It’s hard, notes March, to avoid drawing parallels with today’s Spain, where after years of a strong economic crisis, an exhausted population may finally be beginning to allow itself to hope that the worst might be over.

   Grupo Cortefiel opens its first stores in the US

Grupo Cortefiel arrives in the USA and will begin its expansion through the north american market in September with the opening of six stores. The Group will start with its Cortefiel brand and will develop the expansion through an alliance with the Al Hokair group.

Cortefiel will be the first brand to open in the US. The rest of the brands are expected to follow throughout 2014-2015. The arrival of the Cortefiel brand to the US is the result of an international agreement between Grupo Cortefiel and "Alhokair Fashion Retail”,one of the leading companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an enterprise specializing in the retail business and also a current partner of other global fashion brands such as Gap, Banana Republic, Topshop and Marks & Spencer among others.

Cortefiel will open stand-alone stores, mainly located in shopping malls around the country. Cortefiel´s first US opening will coincide with the New York debut of the Group’s upper scale brand “Pedro delHierro Madrid”, who will present its upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 collection during the New York’s Fashion Week in September.

Since Carmen’s arrival to Pedro del Hierro in 2012, she has been working on the creation of the new line “Pedro del Hierro Madrid” and reinforcing a new creative phase for the brand.

Carmen March began her career in fashion working with Duyos & Paniagua and Javier Larrainzar until she launched Egotherapy alongside Juanjo Oliva in 2000.

   16 artists decorate the Cortefiel store windows to celebrate the sale season

The Cortefiel most iconic shop windows have been made available to young artists to show off their creations. Cortefiel called a competition for new talent to exhibit their work in different store windows throughout Spain. The work will be displayed during the month of July.

The sixteen artists chosen are part of the international Spanish luxury clothes brand, Cortefiel´s strategy to pave the way for artists and offer visibility to talent. The jury is comprised of the Cortefiel marketing team and their advertising agency Revolution.

The winning artists are showing their work in the Cortefiel store windows across 10 cities in Spain and are now on full public view. The result is a surprise from the usual window dressing of any other fashion store.

   Creative Director Carmen March unveils new line for "Pedro del Hierro Madrid"

Pedro Del Hierro is bringing together the fashion press in DIMADMatadero de Madrid’s Design Centre to launch their new Autumn/Winter 13/14 collection for ‘Pedro delHierro Madrid’. The collection is the fruit of the company’s new creative era, led by renowned designer Carmen March.

Carmen has been working on the creation of this new line since joining the company in July 2012. The collection is sombre in terms of colour, consisting mostly of shades of black, dark blue and chocolate brown. Red, essential in a collection with Spanish roots, and lilac, the ultimate color of feminity, provide lighter accents.Two families of prints have also been developed, the first geometric and metallic and the second more floral. The fabrics are luxurious with unexpected combinations of textures and an eclectic mix of the masculine and feminine and the classic and the contemporary. The collection is complemented by a large selection of leather garments. Silhouettes focus on the waist and hips, softening the shoulders - and work for both day and night. This is a collection for women who are feminine, calm, strong, timeless and deeply Spanish. The collection will be in the stores from September.

During a press conference at the PdH store in Madrid’s Salamanca district, Pedro del Hierro announced that the designer will be joining the firm in September.

   Grupo Cortefiel purchases its franchise operations in Russia

The Group closes the deal with the open joint-stock company Melon Fashion Group on purchasing the operations of the Springfield and Women'secret stores in Russia. With this acquisition, the Group consolidates its presence in this important market, and adds 67 more stores under its direct management in Europe.

Grupo Cortefiel, the Royal Spanish Football Federation and Santa Mónica Sports have signed a new sponsorship agreement whereby the brand Pedro del Hierro will be acting as an Official Supplier / Collaborator for an extendable two-year period.

The total look includes a cool wool suit, shirts, ties, shoes, socks and coat.    Springfield opens a flagship store in the heart of Paris

The Springfield "Flagship store" opened its doors to the public in Rivoli Street, located in the center of Paris, inside the “Le Marais” district, which has become one of the most fashionable areas in the city, home to many trendy restaurants, fashion houses, and hype galleries. Following the recent agreements announced for Turkey and China, Grupo Cortefiel engages another project for its expansion in the Baltic Countries: Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.

This project is part of its global expansion plan, and with the arrival to these countries the company's international presence will reach stores in over 70 countries.

The Group will open stores throughout the Baltic States for all its brands: Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Women'secret, and Springfield in collaboration with a local partner, Karkat Fashion. The first openings are planned for November 2012 in the city of Riga, the capital of Latvia.

It currently has a sales network of more than 1,500 stores and corners in South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Armenia.

Together, Avic and Scarborough control the department store chain Rainbow, which has more than 50 centres in China.
